Microsoft has posted the bits – for saving as PDF and saving as XPS, Microsoft's own XML Paper Specification (XPS) alternative format -- as a downloadable add-on for Office 2007.
After reaching an impasse in discussions with Adobe Systems earlier this summer over Microsoft's intent to bundle "Save as PDF" functionality into Office 2007, Microsoft blinked. Instead, the Redmondians said they would offer "Save to PDF" as a downloadable add-on for Office 2007 users.
